Pet-Sitting Service

I work as a freelancer, and I have multiple income revenues. Pet-sitting is one of them……possibly one of my favourite ones. As for the others; I’m a self-employed writer, e-commerce assistant, digital marketing assistant, and social media assistant. Meaning I work from home, this gives me the freedom to be able to travel. As long as there is an internet connection I can work from anywhere.
What this means for you is that (for the most part) I will be able to stay home with your pet all day. I won’t be leaving them to go to work every day, so they would never be alone for more than a few hours.

Why pay a pet-sitting service when I could use one of the free services available on the internet? When you pay for a service you get exactly what you are paying for. Someone who will take care of your home and pets, someone who will be responsible. You are making sure the person you are leaving in charge of your home and companion animals, isn’t going to throw parties, or treat your place like a free hotel.

Why should you choose a pet-sitting service over kennels or a cattery? Not only does keeping your pet at home reduce the stress for them but it also means your home isn’t sitting empty while you are away. You don’t have to worry about getting your mail held (so it doesn’t pile up at the door), or worry a pipe will burst and you’ll come back to a flooded cellar.

As part of my service I am happy to send regular photos and updates (via Email or whatsApp) of your pets while you are away, if you would like me to.

Pet-Sitting

I have always considered myself a dog person. I like cats too, not to mention little furries like rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits but dogs are definitely where my heart lies. I was brought up with dogs, we always had them in the house. My first dog was a Golden Labrador, that my dad had inherited when his dad died a few years previously. His name was Sandy, and he was my best friend. I moved out permanently when I was 28 and in the intervening years we’d rescued numerous dogs (as well as four cats, and numerous guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, and hamsters); a short-haired Alsatian, a Chihuahua Jack Russell Cross, a Golden Retriever, two Yorkshire Terriers, a Russell Terrier, and a Chihuahua.  Many of these were older animals who came from elderly owners who were unable to take care of them anymore. I have an easy rapport with dogs, and no fear of them at all.

I am vegan, so I won’t bring any animal-based foods into your home for myself, that being said I am more than happy to feed your pet/s meat and meaty treats if that is part of their normal diet. I love walking so will happily walk your dog every day, if that is part of their routine….or if it isn’t but you think they will enjoy it. I am aware that not all dogs love walks, so if your dog is not a fan of walks, I would prefer you to let me know.

I hope this gives you an idea about me, and eases any concerns you may have.

Testimonials

Below are testimonials from people who have used my pet-sitting services:

Cheryl looked after my two kitties for a week when I was on holiday over Christmas and it was a treat! She took wonderful care of my babies and even brought lil toys “from Santa”. She also sent photos when I missed them. It was a relief to know they were in good hands. I will definitely be calling Cheryl again and I know my kitties will be happy in her company.

Cheryl has looked after our flat and Alan our cat while we’ve been away multiple times now. She took very good care of everything: the flat was clean and tidy and Alan seemed very happy when we got home! Cheryl was also very good about communicating with us while we were away, keeping us up to date with how Alan was, and checking to make sure she understood all the flat instructions. I think Cheryl would make a great pet-sitter for anyone as she is very diligent and conscientious and very much an animal lover.

Cheryl, is a fantastic pet sitter. Our Maine coon Sabra is a cat that could best be described as challenging, at worst she has been referred to as ‘Devil Child’ because she has left members of my family slightly traumatised about ever owning a female Maine coon. This is because she can be aggressive with people she doesn’t know well and/or due to any changes in her routine. She’s a loving cat when she wants to be but also a complete nightmare if her routine is disrupted.
Cheryl did an amazing job with Sabra, she kept strictly to her routine which we could tell immediately as Sabra used her litter tray beautifully and did not go in the bath (her usual routine break process) once. Cheryl also played regularly with sabra and kept us updated with regular news on how she was getting on. On our return the house was just as we had left it and we returned to a happy cat. I would happily have Cheryl look after Sabra again and have recommended her to friends and family.

Cheryl is fantastic with animals. She has visited my home many times and is very understanding of my dog’s fear/reactivity. They quickly learnt to trust her and are happy in no time. She is very kind and patient, and I would trust her to look after any of my animals, any time. She has looked after my animals, keeping them company, playing with them, and feeding them. I have dogs and rabbits at the moment, and Cheryl understands their different needs and is more than happy to follow instructions with their diet and exercise requirements. I would recommend Cheryl to anyone who needed a kind, understanding, and hard working person to care for their pets.
