Shaving seems to be a huge women’s issue at the moment, I’ll admit I love to shave. I really enjoy the smooth silky feeling of my legs after I have exfoliated, shaved, and moisturised. It has caused me to be on the receiving end of some criticism but I don’t care. What I do care about that my shaving is as ethical and sustainable as possible. Enter Leaf Shave Razors.

Firepot Dehydrated Meals
Food reviews
About four weeks ago I came across Firepot Food dehydrated meals on Instagram. Unusually for this type of backpacking meals they actually had a great selection of vegan options in their range. These lightweight shelf-stable meals are perfect for keeping in just in case, so I knew I wanted to try them.

Food Review
Two things I loved as an omnivore were ribs and wings, I said things because I no longer think of them as food. However, that doesn’t stop me remembering how much I enjoyed them. So when I saw that Sainsbury’s were selling these Veggie Ribz from Plant Power Foods, and that they were made with tempeh, I got VERY excited.
Continue readingYo Sushi
Restaurant Review
Today I’m reviewing Yo Sushi. I have always loved sushi before I was vegan I would have a mix of sashimi and sushi but now I just skip the raw fish. Now, I could make it at home (and sometimes do) but I’m going to be honest it’s just not the same.
Continue readingEarth Conscious Natural Deodorant
Product Review
When I’m looking for new products it is important to me that I find products that aren’t just vegan but also as natural as possible, and that have a lower environmental impact. I really wanted to find a good vegan friendly natural deodorant that actually worked, that came in sustainable packaging, and was not ridiculously expensive. Enter Earth Conscious.
Eat Street Belfast
Restaurant Review
I love travelling, even just in the UK, and one of the things I love most is finding new places (like Eat Street Belfast) to eat out. My main requirement tends to be somewhere that has reasonable prices, it also helps if it is something I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) make at home.
Food on the Go
Food Review
Today I wanted to talk about food on the go. We all have those days when we just didn’t have time to go shopping and therefore couldn’t pack our lunch, so we have to resort to buying something on the go. I might end up making this a series. We shall see. As a vegan there aren’t always loads of options. Things are getting better but where you live can have a huge impact on the options available to you. For example, I know people who rave about the new vegan options at Boots (a massive chemist chain here in the UK who also do lunch and snacks). Except the massive (2 floors) Boots in my nearest city sells one vegan sandwich (the sweetcorn fritter one), that’s it. No salad, no vegan sushi, no new sandwiches or deli platters. It can be really disappointing when people talk about these great vegan options, and you can’t access them.
Things I Loved in May
Personal Post
I am hoping to make this post Things I loved in May, the first part of a monthly series. I’ll be honest it will probably be quite heavily food focussed. But I will try to add in other things as well. Here I discuss food, podcasts, YouTube and books.
Anna-Loka Cardiff
Restaurant Review
I love travelling, even just in the UK, and one of the things I love most is finding new places (like Anna-Loka) to eat out. My main requirement tends to be somewhere that has reasonable prices, it also helps if it is something I couldn’t make at home.
Anna-Loka
Recently I visited a friend in Cardiff, they’re an omnivore but knowing I am vegan, they were desperate to take me to Anna-Loka. They wanted to order takeaway when I arrived but it turned out we were too late, and it had closed. We ended up going for lunch the next day…..and I’m not sorry.
Sweet Stocking Fillers
Treat Suggestions
If you’re anything like me when you’re doing your Christmas presents it’s never just one gift per person. I usually do a main gift, then throw in what I call sweet stocking fillers; little extras, usually sweets (candy) and chocolate. If you’re not a vegan and you’re buying for a friend who is vegan, it it can be a little overwhelming. You find yourself searching specifically for items marketed as vegan. This is a wonderful, and your friend will appreciate it but if you’re on a budget it can get a bit expensive. In this post I am going to share some of the main stream items you can find at supermarkets, and discount (pound) shops that I enjoy. There are items you can get but this gives you a good range for cheap, vegan stocking fillers.
**Disclaimer – These sweets are only Vegan in the UK. Many of them are not suitable for vegans if you are buying them in the US.
