When I’m looking for new products it is important to me that I find products that aren’t just vegan but also as natural as possible, and that have a lower environmental impact. I really wanted to find a good vegan friendly natural deodorant that actually worked, that came in sustainable packaging, and was not ridiculously expensive. Enter Earth Conscious.
You may be asking why a natural deodorant?
Natural deodorant contains no parabens, no aluminium, just simple natural ingredients. Whatever you apply to your skin can seep through into your bloodstream. So, think about the ingredients of products you are placing on your skin. Not only is natural deodorant better for your own health it also better for the planet, none of the ingredients will harm marine life when washed away.
The important thing to remember with natural deodorant is that it is not an antiperspirant so it will not stop you sweating (sweating helps the body release toxins) but it will work to eliminate body odour. It isn’t actually sweat that smells, it’s the bacteria that forms during the process. The smell comes when dried sweat and bacteria combine, and give off the strong scent of body odour.

Making the Earth Conscious Natural Deodorant was born out of a need to find a natural deodorant that worked effectively against body odour. Years of trying and testing various natural and non-natural products without great success drove us to start making our own, it’s that simple.

Earth Conscious deodorant is made from 100% natural ingredients. It has anti-bacterial properties that will combat body odour all day long. It will melt into your skin so there is no waiting for it to dry.
Their deodorants come in two versions, the only real difference is the application method. There is a stick one and a cream. The stick one has a cardboard tube and the cream is in a metal tin. I use the tin, you apply the cream to your underarms, using your fingertips to rub it in.
The tin deodorant cream comes in three scents; Pure (which technically is unscented), Citrus (Lemon and Orange), and Lavender and Tea Tree. I’m not a huge lavender fan so I went with the citrus, I find citrus scents tend to be very ‘fresh’ smelling.
I scrape a pea size blob of cream from the tin using the back of my fingernail, apply it to my underarm using my fingertips, and rub it in. When you first start rubbing it can feel like it is gritty or bitty but you keep rubbing and it melts into your skin. I found it definitely works better on clean skin.
It holds up well in warmer temperatures, I’ve tried some natural deodorants that just melted into oil in hot countries which then makes them much harder to use, and means you end up using a lot more than you intend. I feel like this tin has lasted me for ages. In all fairness I don’t use it every day (I work from home and only apply deodorant when I’m leaving the house) but I still feel it has lasted for longer than other brands I have tried.

It goes on really nicely, keeps me smelling fresh all day, and holds up really well in warmer climates.
