Reusables

Sustainability

As part 2 of my Low Waste and Low Budget series I am going to share my current to-go Reusables. This has already changed in the three months since my last post. Mostly due to finding that one item I use can actually pull double duty very effectively.

Leaf Shave Razor

Shaving seems to be a huge women’s issue at the moment, I’ll admit I love to shave. I really enjoy the smooth silky feeling of my legs after I have exfoliated, shaved, and moisturised. It has caused me to be on the receiving end of some criticism but I don’t care. What I do care about that my shaving is as ethical and sustainable as possible. Enter Leaf Shave Razors.

Low Waste and Low Budget Part 1

Sustainability

I’ve been pondering over this post for a while now. As someone who cares about the planet I often feel like I am a bad low waster because I can’t always (or already) do all the things people talk about. Low waste and low budget sometimes seems unattainable. So I decided to do a series on how I try to overcome the obstacles of being low waste when you have a low income, and how to reconcile your feelings when it’s just not possible.

Firepot Dehydrated Meals

Food reviews

About four weeks ago I came across Firepot Food dehydrated meals on Instagram. Unusually for this type of backpacking meals they actually had a great selection of vegan options in their range. These lightweight shelf-stable meals are perfect for keeping in just in case, so I knew I wanted to try them.

Veggie Ribz

Food Review

Two things I loved as an omnivore were ribs and wings, I said things because I no longer think of them as food. However, that doesn’t stop me remembering how much I enjoyed them. So when I saw that Sainsbury’s were selling these Veggie Ribz from Plant Power Foods, and that they were made with tempeh, I got VERY excited.

Yo Sushi

Restaurant Review

Today I’m reviewing Yo Sushi. I have always loved sushi before I was vegan I would have a mix of sashimi and sushi but now I just skip the raw fish. Now, I could make it at home (and sometimes do) but I’m going to be honest it’s just not the same.

Chia Pudding Recipe

Recipe Post

Chia seeds are a great source of fibre. One 28g serving contains 11g of fibre. My favourite way to eat it is as chia pudding. I have a variety of versions I make. The basic measurements are the same but I change up the liquids, flavourings and additions.

Earth Conscious Natural Deodorant

Product Review

When I’m looking for new products it is important to me that I find products that aren’t just vegan but also as natural as possible, and that have a lower environmental impact. I really wanted to find a good vegan friendly natural deodorant that actually worked, that came in sustainable packaging, and was not ridiculously expensive. Enter Earth Conscious.

Eat Street Belfast

Restaurant Review

I love travelling, even just in the UK, and one of the things I love most is finding new places (like Eat Street Belfast) to eat out. My main requirement tends to be somewhere that has reasonable prices, it also helps if it is something I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) make at home.
